Connie Carringer, November 2014.

When Connie's sister asked her to be with her during the birth of her first baby she was excited and nervous and unsure of what to expect. The experience was one that ignited a passion for pregnancy, birth, and parenting long before Connie began her own journey into motherhood. Her own experiences with pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, and parenting have revealed so much more about the various challenges that can arise as families welcome a baby into their lives and created for Connie a deeper understanding of the fundamental need for support from caring professionals and communities. Connie created Sprout and Bean as an avenue to build compassionate, informed, and creative communities of support for new and growing families.

Connie Carringer is a DONA trained birth doula (2010), CAPPA trained postpartum doula (2016), Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator (LCCE), Certified Lactation Educator (CLE), experienced workshop and support group facilitator, and expressive arts practitioner. She has her Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Post-Masters Certificate in Expressive Arts Therapy. Connie is passionate about supporting new and growing families as they cope through the joys and challenges of parenting.

Connie draws on her years of experience a counselor, advocate, facilitator, and doula in addition to her personal journey into motherhood to provide professional, compassionate, kind and non-judgmental services.

Sprout and Bean was founded in August 2016 after many, many years of dreaming. This work is truly a labor of love. It is an honor and joy to serve families in this way.
