The Birth Doula provides continuous physical, emotional, and informational support to the mother and her partner before, during and just after birth. Connie is a DONA trained birth doula (2010) with experience supporting families using traditional coping methods as well as HypnoBirthing and HypnoBabies techniques. Connie believes that women should be empowered to make choices that they feel are best for them before, during and after their birthing time and her role is to be an advocate that supports those choices. A doula can be instrumental in creating a peaceful, joyful environment as a family welcomes a new member. She not only supports the mother, but also her birth partner and any other important people present.
The Postpartum Doula works with families in the postpartum period; offering support, information, instruction, comfort, and referrals as needed. Postpartum Doulas support the mother’s recovery, give instruction on infant care and feeding, and assist with household organization. Connie is a CAPPA trained postpartum doula (2016) and also uses her own experience as a mother to serve new and growing families during the wonderful and challenging early days of parenthood.
